From May 11th to 15th, NUMA hosts Google Launchpad: a 5 day event to test and grow startup projects.
With a 3-to-1 ratio of mentors to startups – 39 mentors for 13 startups – the entrepreneurs are challenged in their product strategy, marketing, UX, and Tech. The teams walk away with an action plan and can use the coming weeks to re-absorb all the information given.
“In these five days, we want to try and push the startups to make all the mistakes they could have made over the coming two years” Martin Gorner – Google Developer Relations
The first two days consist of looking at the project through the customers’ eyes: what is the problem, is it a problem, how are you solving it and why do people care? These days are filled with strong discussions and experimentation. Teams test landing page setups, evaluate acquired analytics and incorporate changes after going onto the streets to talk with users.
The third day, marketing experts enter the ring. You learn and improve how to express the value of the solution in terms of communication and branding. Next to that, thepitch contest tests the teams’ ability to convince and inspire. The last two days are respectively about user experience and technology.
More than just 5 days full of useful information with knowledgeable mentors, the week is about building sustainable habits and setting best practises. This way, the launchpad has a lasting effect.
